Cleaning Frenzy, Health Catastrophe?
by alliance for natural health, February 4, 2021
How the drive to clean and disinfect during COVID could be damaging our health.
The incessant cleaning and disinfecting that has become the norm in many homes and businesses during the pandemic may not only be unnecessary, but dangerous. Chemicals found in cleaning products can adversely affect human health, including acute damage and chronic effects. We must demand that these chemicals be pulled from the market so they can be studied properly for safety.
Many feel the need to clean surfaces often to prevent virus transmission, but experts are now saying that the risk of getting infected from touching a surface contaminated by the virus is low. Surfaces in hospitals near COVID patients have been tested, and no infectious virus can be identified.

Chemical Madness- EPA Shirking Duties on Pesticides
by alliance for natural health, February 4, 2021
The US lags behind other advanced countries in regulating dangerous chemicals, making us more susceptible to COVID and a host of other diseases.
Thousands of pesticides, food additives, and cosmetic ingredients that are legal in the US are banned in the European Union, Brazil, and China – which may help explain in some part why Americans have lower life expectancy and higher COVID fatality rate than other comparable nations. The federal government’s deference to the chemical industry is completely unacceptable.
One of the most dramatic examples is PFAS, the so-called "forever chemicals" that do not break down in the environment. We’ve written at length about the EPA’s failure to address the dangers of these chemicals, which contaminate drinking water and are used in Teflon, food packaging, and a host of other products. While the EPA stalls, it has been left to individual states to pass legislation to curb the use of PFAS.
Experts are warning that elevated PFAS levels can increase risk of serious COVID infection. They are also linked to a wide range of other health concerns such as cancer, thyroid disorders, kidney disease, autoimmune problems, liver disease, and more.
While the EPA seems to be twiddling their thumbs, European countries have been more active in setting limits on PFAS chemicals and in some cases even banning their use in food packaging.
But Americans are exposed to thousands of other chemicals that are banned elsewhere, increasing our toxic burden.

THEY'RE COMING FOR YOUR ANIMALS -- UK CONFIRMS GASSING CHICKENS
by Ice Age Farmer, March 10, 2021
Governments are moving rapidly to remove your right to raise animals completely. The UK has confirmed via FOIA the gassing of people's backyard chickens around a poultry facility in Kent. Colorado's PAUSE act will destroy their meat industry. And livestock registration is rolling out around the world. There is a war on Animal Agriculture. Yes, factory farms are abhorrent, and we must rapidly move to a decentralized, regenerative food system--but rather than support this, governments are pointing at disgusting CAFOs and saying, "We must END ALL ANIMAL AGRICULTURE." They are precluding the solution, so that they take total control of food production. Christian breaks it down AND explains why we cannot allow this to happen.

New report: Prohibition on patenting conventional breeding is being circumvented (11 March 2021)
by No Patents on Seeds!, March 11, 2021
No Patents on Seeds! is today handing over a new report on patent applications for conventionally bred plants to the German Ministry of Justice in Berlin. The organisation calls on the German Minister of Justice, Christine Lambrecht, to take measures against the patenting of plants and animals - as announced in the coalition agreement. The report provides an overview of patent applications on conventionally bred plants that were published in 2020, and which could be granted by the European Patent Office (EPO) in the next few years.
The report shows how large corporations such as BASF, Bayer-Monsanto, DowDupont (Corteva), Syngenta, as well as companies such as KWS, are trying to exploit the existing legal loopholes in European patent law to obtain patents on conventionally bred plants and animals. In the patent applications, the boundaries between conventional breeding and genetic engineering interventions are systematically blurred. Thus, patents granted on genetically modified plants (or animals) can be extended to cover plants and animals that have comparable breeding characteristics, but originate from conventional breeding.

Family’s Farm Raided, the Animals Killed—for Rehabilitating Them Without a Permit
by Matt Agorist, March 3, 2021
A Michigan farm owner’s desire to help animals in need has landed her in jail and the animals she was helping, killed. Kei Ju Farm and Rescue owner Julie Hall did not pay the government for the proper permit before helping animals so officials arrested her and then killed her animals.
Because there is no animal rescue in Petoskey, for years, Hall has been rescuing both wild and domestic animals and nursing them back to health. She has years of experience in the field and has a farm where she carries out the rehabilitation. She was well-known in the community for providing this service.
"We have no more rehab centers up here. So this ole farm gal helps everyone," Hall said.
Folks in her community say that Hall has saved countless animals over the years and has provided a much needed service in the absence of a Michigan Licensed Rehabilitation facility. However, a warrant was issued for her arrest last week because the government forces people like Hall to pay them first before rescuing animals.
