Is The Government Planning A Food Shortage?
by Roger Anghis, June 13, 2021

The stories coming out are a little scary, to say the least. Keep in mind that the present illegitimate administration is not being run by Joe Biden. He has a behind-the-scenes cadre of anti-American low-life traitors that are bound to turn America into a third-world nation in any way they can. I believe that it will end in total failure but that is for another column. There are threats that there is a shortage of goods, all kinds of goods from food to clothes and other manufactured goods. This shortage seems to be global. Here is one of the reports: Bloomberg News reports that "suddenly," the world is running short of just about everything.

Partly, that’s due to the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Partly, it’s due to lazy-ass people who are soaking up federal taxpayer-supported unemployment benefits instead of looking for work.

And partly – or maybe largely – it’s due to disastrous economic policies that are helping trigger massive inflation, thanks to Joe Biden’s Marxist handlers.

Plunging Crop Supplies Send Prices Soaring And Reignite Food Inflation Fears, WASDE Reports
by Tyler Durden, August 13, 2021

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report was released Thursday afternoon and pointed to declining grain supplies that sent grain futures prices higher and will keep food inflation in focus.

Bloomberg outlines the key takeaways from the August WASDE report:

  • DROUGHT BITES: U.S. corn and soybean yields fell below analyst expectations and the declines were largely centered in the drought-stricken northern Plains, where severe drought has withered crops.
  • RUSSIA: So goes Russia’s harvest, so goes the wheat market. A large cut in the harvest means a lot less global wheat supplies and Russia’s wheat-export throne as the world’s top shipper is in doubt with the current forecast in line with exports out of the E.U.
  • WHEAT PEAK: Benchmark Chicago wheat prices hit the highest levels for a most-active contract since 2013. Corn and soybeans each touched multi-week highs but remain below multi-year peaks from earlier in 2021.
  • YOUR MOVE, FUNDS: With the USDA seeming to appease bullish traders with aggressive cuts and dry weather continuing to grip the Plains, an influx of speculative buying could bring the rally in grains, nearly a year-old at this point, to new heights.
  • FOOD INFLATION: Of course, with grain and soybean prices elevated for months, the higher costs should start to filter through the supply chain, pointing to higher prices for feed, seed, fertilizer, food and other goods.

This report means that adverse weather conditions are another driver of food inflation that shows no signs of stopping.

Bayer loses appeal of ruling that its weed killer causes cancer
by Joel Rosenblatt and Jef Feeley, August 10, 2021

A US appeals court refused to overturn 2019 verdict which ruled in favour of a couple who fell ill after Roundup’s long use.

Bayer AG’s Roundup woes deepened as it lost another appeal of a jury verdict finding its weed killer causes cancer, the com- pany’s third consecutive appeals court loss of the cases that have gone to trial.

A California appeals court in San Francisco refused to overturn the 2019 verdict in which a jury awarded more than $2 billion to a couple who claimed they fell ill after using the herbicide for more than three decades. It was the eighth-largest product-defect award in U.S. history. The appeals court left intact the trial judge’s decision to reduce the award to $86.7 million.

The decision comes after Leverkusen, Germany-based Bayer recently set aside an additional $4.5 billion to deal with thousands of Roundup suits, bringing its reserves for the cases to more than $16 billion. The company also said its Monsanto unit will pull the current version of Roundup off the U.S. consumer lawn and garden market in 2023.

Amish Farm Fined $250K, Facing Jail Time for Humanely Raising and Selling Food to Willing Customers
by Matt Agorist, August 9, 2021

Amos Miller and his family have been running Miller’s Organic Farm for over a century, providing willing and highly satisfied customers with milk, chicken, beef, and eggs. All of the food coming from Miller’s farm is beyond organic, humanely raised in a non-factory setting and the animals treated with dignity as they spend their entire lives naturally and stress-free out on pasture. By any moral standard, Miller’s farm is the leading example of what farming in America should look like.

Unfortunately, because Miller uses humane techniques and treats his animals well, this has put a government target on his back. Recently, federal Judge Edward G. Smith, imposed sanctions on his farm, ordering the family farm to pay over $250,000 in fines or go to jail. Because the Millers don’t use the USDA factory farm methods, this makes them non-compliant and thus an enemy of the state.

"In order to effect defendants’ future compliance, by making them aware of the seriousness of their violations and the consequences for future violations, defendants are ordered to pay to the United States, within 30 days of the date of entry of this Order – and pursuant to written instructions that the United States will provide to defendants – a fine of $250,000, or face further monetary and other penalties, possibly including imprisonment of Amos Miller," the order says.

Ernst Smokes Cali Bacon Plan
by Kelly, August 6, 2021

As California moves to effectively ban bacon and other animal agriculture products, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, is pushing back to ensure Iowa farmers and producers can continue selling their products across the country. Ernst is helping introduce the Exposing Agricultural Trade Suppression (EATS) Act to prohibit state and local government from interfering with the production or manufacture of agricultural products in other states.

"We thought we’ve seen it all from the radical left – from defunding the police, to the Green New Deal, to trillions in new spending with skyrocketing inflation – but this takes it to a whole new level: banning bacon? No way, folks. Radicals in liberal states like California shouldn’t be allowed to punish hardworking farmers and producers in Iowa, which is why I’m pushing to strip out this ridiculous law and ensure Iowans can continue selling the nation’s best pork, bacon, and eggs to Americans across the country," said Senator Ernst.
